DR FEICKERT ANALOGUE

Although a photo can tell a lot, in this case images don’t come close to telling the Dr Feickert story. Engineered at the highest level - YES!

But the beauty of the table, (visually and sonically) can only be conveyed in person. If you are looking for your last table and want to jump ahead of the pack, you owe it to yourself to make an appointment to come hear this setup…. On display in NJ. Also showing the Schroder CP tonearm and Jelco 750.

WOODPECKER TURNTABLE

The Idea

…was built out of customers' enquiries. Most peoples Association of a turntable is a wooden box, platter and tonearm - that's it. And here we go: Have a look at our idea of such a design. With a very high level of performance already built into the older models, the only difference should be the appearance.

The Mission

….was not simple. From the very beginning it was clear that we wanted surpass our older products, transferring their virtues into a traditional chassis. So we were looking for new ways to reach his goal, and get the results were looking for……

After a lot of refinement we found a way to correct interaction of only one mass layer with the chassis. At the same time our focus was on "ease-of-use" with features like the sliding alarm base with pivot to spindle scale. This approach allows you to change tonearms within a couple of minutes and imagine how easy it can be to set up a tonearm this way…

The Result

…is a new design on its own – 'Timeless elegance meets excellent sound’ - refining our well proven bearing design, platter and high torque motor, we bettered the virtues of our older models in a compact chassis. Needless to say that motor's electronics was newly developed from scratch to match this new approach in a perfect way..

The Sound

…will leave you stunned - no matter which tonearm you're planning to use (The sliding base allows you to mount nearly all available tonearms - from 9 inches up to 12 inches). You can relax, listen to your music and forget about the technology behind

BLACKBIRD TURNTABLE

The Idea

… was obvious…to build a turntable a little bigger in size than the Woodpecker but retain the special appeal. There are lots of vinyl lovers who wish to run two tonearms on one deck - here we go! We not only made a larger scale but set a new course in terms of ease of use.

The Mission

… was to enhance the technical base of the Woodpecker to push forward the sound quality. Running two tonearms was a requirement but we also implemented some new ideas on the drive. We refined the controller software to drive two motors simultaneously in a kind of master-slave configuration.

Putting the two motors in a 180° position around the bearing cancels out all reactive forces that could cause gyration of the platter. As a free add-on we achieve a better randomization of wow & flutter less audible and lower bearing rumble at the same time.

The Result

… is an enhanced sovereignty in sound - excellent measurements and a timeless elegance combined with absolute ease of use. As a world‘s first we have integrated a dedicated Protractor that is blindingly simple in use. You will be amazed how easy setup of your cartridge can be.

The Sound

… sovereign, dynamic, powerful and neutral at the same time. No matter which tonearm you are planning to use. Relax and take a trip into the fascination of music knowing that not even the smallest detail on the black gold is being kept back.
Forget about technical details, enjoy the music in all its grace!

THE FIREBIRD TURNTABLE

The Idea

… based on our previous experience with Woodpecker and Blackbird Turntables we have refined our applied concepts. The ability to handle two 12 inch tonearms was one of the principle design parameters along with simplifying the turntable setup and alignment procedures. We also focused on the visual perspective as well with evolutionary refinements in our form factor, fit and finish and presence. From a tonal standpoint the Firebird represents the pinnacle of the DFA product line, it is truly our new reference turntable.

The Mission

… was not to simply modify the electronics used from the Woodpecker and Blackbird – that would have been to simple, no, instead we started from scratch with all new electronics. We developed a much more sophisticated type of hardware and completely rewrote our software, taking multi-motor-turntable operation to a never before seen level. Not to worry though, this new technology will also be integrated into our current Woodpecker and Blackbird tables, thus elevating their performance as well.

Running on three motors we chose the only geometrical configuration that really makes sense – the equilateral triangle. As we have already shown with the Blackbird, the positive effects of reduced drag force on the bearing is bettered by the triangle configuration as it also stabilizes the bearing/platter assembly by cancelling out all acting forces. All tendencies of gyration are effectively eliminated. Combined with our all new bearing with 80% reduced area of contact - which will also be fitted to the Woodpecker and Blackbird models - we achieve much lower friction causing less rumble and improving the wow & flutter even more …

The Result

… timeless elegance paired with perfect measurements. Ease of use at a new level that improves upon the experience from our smaller models. Easier to set up as we also designed new feet that allow a much wider range of leveling capability along with improved sonics. In addition we have also implemented and improved our well known built-in Protractor TT for setting up tonearms and cartridges. An all new and more refined armboard-design that makes assembly even easier than before with enhanced accuracy. You‘ll be amazed at how simple it is to achieve the best performance.

The Sound

… pitch black background paired with pure dynamics, both macro and micro. Power and stability meets neutrality. Whatever your choice of tonearm/cartridge is – the Firebird will reveal the most you can get out of it opening new horizons for your listening pleasure.
You will be completely confident that nothing is being held back. Sit back, relax, leave all discussions about the technical aspects behind you and just enjoy the music …
Get involved – more and more!
